While I provide a variety of services under the umbrella of Social Work, I maintain the following standards in all of my professional interactions:

Values-Driven

I believe each person has a core value at the root of both their greatest joy and deepest pain. When our circumstances align with what we value, we tend to move toward joy; when they do not, we tend toward distress and, if left unaddressed, deeper pain. For this reason, I begin exploring a person’s core values from day one of providing any service. As a Christ-centered Social Worker, I believe Christ is at the core of these values, and that learning more about Him helps us develop a deeper understanding of what we value and why. As our understanding deepens, our perspective on circumstances can become more hopeful—even when those circumstances themselves do not change.

Community-Based

After years of navigating social service systems—including child welfare, criminal justice, and public education—as both a volunteer mentor and professional Social Worker, I have seen both the essential role these systems play and the gaps that can result from their structures and bureaucratic processes. My community-based philosophy is to complement the efforts of agencies by providing personalized, responsive support that meets people where they are, particularly when needs are urgent and resources are limited. Ultimately, I hope each person I encounter can see that it is possible to find someone they can trust, be vulnerable with, and have walk alongside them through times of need.
