Response to "Ravi Zacharias and the Judgment of God."

Here is my response to an article I recently read on Gospel Coalition about Ravi Zacharias, and the fallout from the late apologist's sexual assault scandal. What made him such an appealing apologist was that he was initially a skeptic and offered insight on the road to faith from a culture that is the complete opposite of what we know here in the bubble that we have created in our country. Learning of his passing and then learning of all of the misconduct that he was reportedly unrepentant of was certainly shocking and unnerving.

While I do not condone his actions, I hope that those who were heavily influenced by his work find peace in knowing that God gave him eloquence in explaining how to effectively reach non-believers with the Gospel. As someone said in a post that I read on Twitter, those who were converted and influenced by Mr. Zacharias were not choosing to follow the sinner that God used to convert or influence them, they were choosing to follow Jesus.

Jesus is the same today as He was yesterday. He is without sin, He is our Savior, and He is worthy of praise and worship. I know it is hard not to be shaken when you have put your trust into someone in a position of Biblical authority, and they fall. But God's word will sustain forever and He will not forsake us, as long as we call upon His Holy Name.

For those who were victimized by Mr. Zacharias' abuse and misconduct, I pray that you will find peace and recovery from the trauma that this man caused. I also pray that you seek and find the wisdom to understand that the God this man spoke about is as loving as ever, and no abuse that you experienced was ever in God's Will.
